Instruments and Rentals

  •

There are four types of instruments in the Orchestra Program at Sherman ISD. Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass.

    • Violin - small, played on the shoulder, high pitched strings and notes.
    • Viola - bigger than the violin, played on the shoulder, lower strings and notes.
    • Cello - played sitting down, with the instrument between the knees, very low notes and strings
    • Bass - played sitting down or standing up. The lowest of the string instruments!

Each of these instruments is extremely important to the program and its success.

It is encouraged that students rent their own instruments from the reputable companies listed below. These companies offer programs and insurance that allow your student to upsize their instrument when needed, and take care of any repairs that may arise.
